Welcome to HOPE Mbale

Our Background

The Holistic Organization to Promote Equality (HOPE Mbale) was founded in 2009 after realizing the increase in the human rights violations and bias towards Key Populations, resulting in stigma, discrimination, prejudice, mistreatment, family banishment, and school dropouts.

The organization is non-governmental, non-partisan, and voluntary. It is duly registered by the Government of Uganda as a Company Limited by guarantee and a Non-Government Organization registered by the NGO Bureau. It is also affiliated with Regional, National, and international networks with similar objectives.

HOPE MBALE operates in Eastern Uganda with a focus on rural and urban areas. The organization’s geographical scope covers the districts of; Mbale, Tororo-Malaba, Busia, Manafwa, Bududa, Sironko, Bulambuli, Serere and Kapchorwa.
